May 5–7

Asian Cultural Festival of San Diego
May 6
Celebrate Asian Pacific American Heritage month with two stages of cultural and traditional performances from a dozen Asian countries and cultures. There will also be children’s arts and crafts, a ramen-eating contest, a video game tent, a beer garden, and lots of delicious Asian foods! This is a free event.

Miracle Babies Superhero 5K
May 7
Don your favorite superhero costume to spread the word, inspire support, and raise money! Take part in Miracle Babies, a 5K run/walk for families with babies in neonatal intensive care units (NICUs). All proceeds from the event will support families in need with newborns in NICUs.

San Diego Surf Film Festival

Gator by the Bay

Kite Festival
May 13

Mother’s Day Celebration at the Flower Fields

Pirate Days

Legacy Week
May 27–29
Spend Memorial Day weekend aboard the USS Midway, with activities and fun for the whole family! Activities include a Veterans Wreath Ceremony, American Freedom Festival Benefit concert, a Kids Adventure Discovery Zone, “Meet the Aviators,” Navy, Coast Guard and Air Force band performances, and a blood drive.
