Mama’s Kitchen believes that everyone is entitled to the basic necessity of life- nutritious food, and we at Greater Good Realty couldn’t agree more. As a community-driven organization, Mama’s Kitchen provides nutrition support to men, women and children affected by AIDS or cancer who are vulnerable to hunger. They promote many yearly events to continue to grow the outreach for those in need. Most recently was their 24th annual Mama’s Day Event in La Jolla, the best culinary event of the Year!
Since it’s inception in the 90s, the Mama’s Day event has raised over $3 million for the cause. This year’s event consisted of over 55 of the top local chefs, restaurants and caterers who presented signature dishes for guests, raising money for the mission. Among the sponsors were Monica and David Stone, Owners of Greater Good Realty along with Sam “The Cooking Guy” Zien performing his infamous cooking demo’s.
Sam the Cooking Guy has over 14 Emmys who has found a way to make cooking casually understandable. He stays away from the fancy equipment and live-casts his cooking showing from the comfort of his own home, where he cooks with his family, just like we all do! Sam said it best in this statement, “For too long now TV chefs have tried to impress with their food and style. But a ton of ingredients and steps just winds up with people saying they can’t cook. And it’s not that they can’t cook- it’s that they don’t because they think it’s too hard. So isn’t it time someone made cooking easy?”
