The Old Police Headquarters building, located adjacent to Seaport Village in San Diego, is undergoing an extensive restoration and renovation that will transform it into a premier shopping, dining and entertainment destination being branded as “The Headquarters.”

Built in 1939, the property served as the headquarters for the San Diego Police Department until 1987. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Terramar Retail Centers, which holds a 40-year lease with the Port of San Diego on the Old Police Headquarters site, has been conducting the renovation work and will maintain the architectural style of the original building in all of the project details.

In January 2012, the Board of Port Commissioners entered into the new lease, which required a complete renovation of the Old Police Headquarters. The estimated cost for the renovation project is $40 million. Read more on this story from the Port of San Diego’s website.
