Greater Good Realty Donates $1250 to Mama’s Kitchen in January!
Mama’s Kitchen believes that every person is entitled to the basic necessity of life, nutritious food. As a volunteer-driven, nonprofit organization, they prepare and deliver food to men, women, and children who are affected by AIDS or cancer.
We learned about Mama’s Kitchen through a recent client, who happens to be the President Elect of this amazing organization. Like every group that Greater Good will be assisting, we wanted to understand how this organization operates. So, we went on a tour of the facility and met with staff and some volunteers to see firsthand what they do every day. It was quite an impressive operation.
Founded in 1990, Mama’s Kitchen has provided over 5 million home delivered meals to those that are not physically able to provide for themselves. This includes 3 meals a day to over 70 kids in the Children’s Nutrition Program and over 125 adults in the Critical Illness Nutrition Program. In addition, Mama’s Pantry was established in 2004 to also provide food for low income individuals affected by HIV/AIDS that needed occasional assistance but didn’t require home delivery.
Greater Good Realty is proud to dontate $1250 this month to Mama’s Kitchen and we look forward to assisting them throughout 2012.
