Check out this great restaurant next to Balboa Park…
After a showing at our Rental Listing at Laurel Bay Monica and I decided to go across the street to Cucina Urbana located at the corner of Laurel St and 5th Ave.
We heard alot about their daily Happy Hours and boy it was a good call! Every day from 5pm-7pm, they offer specials such as half price pizzas, but not just any pizzas. These are unique, such as the Meatball Pizza I ordered with buffalo mozzarella, fontina, and parmesan cheeses and fresh spinach.
We both ordered a specialty cocktail from the infused vodka that had soaking at the bar. Watermelon with Rosemary Martini…Yum!
They have a large menu of various Italian specialties and from what I’ve read on yelp, I’ll need to go back soon to try out some other dishes.
What I also liked about the place was the mixture of families with kids, to the single women and men at the bar. It has a nice mix of folks just enjoying themselves.
Check it out if you are in the area, as you won’t be disappointed.
